Chicken Marsala Recipe
This amazing recipe is perfect for a cozy night in or a special occasion meal. It’s creamy, savory, and has just the right amount of wine sauce to make your taste buds sing.
Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. onion powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 cups sliced mushrooms
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup Marsala wine
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- In a shallow dish, combine 1 cup of flour, 1 teaspoon of dried thyme, 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper.
- Dredge each chicken breast in the seasoned flour, shaking off any excess.
- In a large skillet, heat 1/4 cup of olive oil over medium heat. When the oil is hot, add the chicken breasts and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 3 minutes per side.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and place it in a baking dish. Cover with foil and bake for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through.
- In the same skillet, add 2 cups of sliced mushrooms and sauté for 3-4 minutes or until they’ve released their liquid and are nicely browned. Remove the mushrooms from the skillet and set aside.
- Add 1 cup of chicken broth and 1/2 cup of Marsala wine to the skillet, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for 3-4 minutes or until slightly reduced.
- Stir in 1/2 cup of heavy cream and bring the sauce back to a simmer, cooking for 2-3 minutes or until thickened. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- To serve, spoon the sauce over the chicken and top with the sautéed mushrooms. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
