Today, I’m sharing with you a recipe that has been passed down through generations of my family – Beef Goulash. This hearty and comforting dish is perfect for cold winter days or anytime you need a satisfying meal.
Goulash
Ingredients
- 2 lbs. beef stew meat, cut into cubes
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons sweet paprika
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon caraway seeds
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 cup sour cream
- Fresh parsley, chopped
- Egg noodles or rice, for serving
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the onions and cook for 5 minutes until softened.
- Add the garlic and cook for another minute.
- Add the beef cubes and cook until browned on all sides, about 10 minutes.
- Add the sweet paprika, smoked paprika, caraway seeds, salt, and pepper. Stir to coat the beef.
- Add the beef broth, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and bell peppers. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 2-3 hours, until the beef is tender and the sauce has thickened.
- Stir in the sour cream and fresh parsley.
- Serve over egg noodles or rice.
Beef Goulash Recipe
